Poster two focus on the principles of colour theory, textual elements, the principles of typography and concept of the signifier and signified. My chosen key word for poster two is 'translucent' inspired from from the following haiku poem by Kobayashi Ikka.
"A world of dew,
and within every dewdrop,
A world of struggle"
(Issa, 2020)
The first image displays the sketches that were completed during the workout activity. As well as sketching poster designs we were also encouraged to sketch up various wire frames. As a result, i experimented with proximity, alignment, repetition and contrast (The University of Auckland, 2020) within the typography elements of my poster.
The second image is my final poster created during the workshop. We were given roughly 5 minutes to roughly sketch up a final poster. Feedback i received from other students included experiment with colour, proximity, typography and contrast.
The image to the right shows my concepts and developments for my poster. I made sure to keep in mind the concept of the signifier and signified. This has been portrayed through my angel representing evil which shows a strong contrast.
The next three images show the process of drawing and then scanning onto illustrator. Once scanned i enhanced the thickness of the lines in order to make it look more digitalised.
From the feedback given from my peers during the workshop, i made sure to experiment with text and typography. I looked over many different style of fonts to ultimately decide which one would best compliment the aesthetic i was looking for.
The next free images are digital developments which have been created on photoshop and illustrator. The design element of colour has been heavily incorporated within each one of these posters through the red contrasting with the black and white. Type and typography has also been experimented with.
Here we have my final movie poster inspired the haiku by Kobayashi Ikka. I have focused on the principle of colour theory as a significant visual element to illustrate that the movie is a horror film. The key elements of a movie poster such as a text, style, and imagery have also been illustrated through my final poster.
